Engineering Manager
Job Description
We are looking for an "Engineering Manager" on behalf of our client, a fast-growing health technology company and modern healthcare provider that is transforming access to care. Our client combines digital health solutions, an integrated EHR platform, physical healthcare locations offering urgent and primary care services, and a user-friendly patient app to make everyday healthcare simpler, faster, and more accessible.
Responsibilities
Manage, mentor, and grow a team of full stack engineers building and scaling care delivery services.
Provide technical leadership across frontend and backend domains.
Enable the team to deliver high-quality, scalable, and reliable solutions.
Partner closely with Product, Design, Data, and Engineering leaders to define technical strategy, priorities, and execution plans.
Drive architectural direction across web, mobile, and backend systems.
Ensure engineering best practices are applied consistently across the technology stack.
Own delivery outcomes by balancing scope, timelines, and technical quality.
Support system design and implementation decisions in a modern microservices and frontend application environment.
Establish and reinforce engineering best practices, including code quality, testing, observability, and automation.
Foster a culture of accountability, psychological safety, continuous improvement, and reliable delivery.
Communicate clearly with stakeholders and leadership to ensure alignment, transparency, and successful adoption of platform capabilities.
Qualifications
7+ years of experience building and scaling full stack applications.
2+ years of experience managing engineers and leading technical teams.
Strong understanding of modern frontend technologies, including JavaScript and TypeScript.
Hands-on experience with React, React Native, and/or ExtJS.
Solid backend knowledge, particularly in microservice architectures and cloud-based systems.
Proficiency in at least one strongly typed backend language, preferably Kotlin, Scala, or Java.
Experience designing and working with APIs, including GraphQL and REST.
Strong familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern DevOps practices.
Experience working in distributed teams and managing cross-functional dependencies.
