Site Reliability Engineer (AWS & Kubernetes)
Job Description
Our client, a global leader in the technology circular economy, gives used devices a second and third life and cuts electronic waste at scale, working only with the world's leading tech and telco companies. They're now looking for a "Site Reliability Engineer" to own the reliability and scalability of a modern, AWS-based microservices platform.
This is a hands-on role. You'll design, build and operate infrastructure that is secure, observable and increasingly automated, and you'll use AI tools to move faster and remove repetitive work. You'll work closely with product engineering teams and act as the go-to reliability expert.
What you'll do
Build and manage AWS cloud infrastructure with Terraform
Own the performance, availability and scaling of Kubernetes (EKS)
Improve reliability through monitoring, alerting and automation
Design systems that recover from failure on their own
Improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
Use AI tools to speed up delivery and reduce operational overhead
Write clear documentation, runbooks and reusable automation
Track and improve reliability metrics such as uptime and recovery time
What we're looking for
Strong experience with Terraform and infrastructure as code
Hands-on experience running Kubernetes on AWS (EKS)
Solid understanding of AWS (networking, compute, storage, security)
Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar)
Monitoring and observability know-how (logs, metrics, alerts, dashboards)
Production experience with relational and NoSQL databases
Understanding of distributed and event-driven systems
A clear communicator, comfortable working across backend and frontend teams
Comfortable using AI tools in day-to-day engineering work
Nice to have
GitOps tools (ArgoCD, Flux)
Autoscaling tools (Karpenter, KEDA)
Security scanning and policy-as-code
Go or a similar backend language
AWS certifications
Experience with large-scale or multi-tenant platforms
Location Remote, within APAC.
