Job Description
We are searching for a "Director, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, EECA" based in Almaty, Kazakhstan, to join our client, the largest higher education company in the world, that partners with universities worldwide to enhance academic quality, digital learning, and institutional capacity. The organization supports institutions in strategic growth planning, program development, and operational improvement to strengthen their global competitiveness.
Requirements:
• 4+ years of advisory/professional services experience, including engaging with C-level stakeholders.
• 3+ years of operating role experience, preferably in finance, marketing, or general management.
• Demonstrated experience in mergers and acquisitions and financial modeling is preferred.
• Capable of analyzing regional trends, forecasting prospects, and crafting growth strategies that harmonize with the vision.
• Extensive experience building decks and presentations with Microsoft PowerPoint, with the ability to present decks effectively and professionally to appropriate constituents.
• Solid project management acumen to oversee partnerships and end-to-end business
development processes.
• Demonstrated capacity to steer and influence stakeholders across levels, both internally
and externally.
• Understanding of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and the U.S. Higher Education systems.
• Demonstrated relationship-building skills with colleagues, partners, and consultants.
• Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment.
• Fluency in Russian and Kazakh in addition to English.
• Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Based in Almaty, Kazakhstan
Responsibilities:
Partnership Management, Coordination, and Implementation
• Cultivate relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including global and regional practice leads, university partner leadership teams, regulatory bodies, and potential partners, to facilitate successful implementation of 10 year partnership goals.
• Stay attuned to regional education trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging opportunities to shape informed growth strategies and university partner success.
• Network with local and national organizations; educational institutions; non-profit organizations; and private sector business interests for future cooperation with partner universities.
• Maintain all project documents, produce required project related reporting such as weekly, monthly, and annual progress reports and ad hoc reports as required.
• Serve as the main point of contact for assigned projects, ensuring effective communication.
• This position will be based at a partner institution in Almaty, with regular travel to Tashkent and Shymkent. Occasional travel to the United States or other locations may be required for company's corporate or regional responsibilities.
• It is estimated that the role will allocate approximately 50% of time to the partner in Almaty, 20% to the partner in Shymkent, 20% to the partner in Tashkent, and 10% to other corporate and regional activities.
Strategic Partnership Development
• Develop and execute a regional growth strategy in alignment with company's and partner universities’ objectives.
• Identify and evaluate potential growth opportunities that align with company’s and partner universities’ goals that contribute to regional education development.
• In collaboration with university partner, lead comprehensive due diligence processes, examining financial, operational, legal, and cultural aspects of potential opportunities.
• Oversee negotiation processes, ensuring favorable terms and agreements with potential partners or targets.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to devise integration plans that optimize value, streamline operations, and enhance stakeholder experiences.
