Job Description

 

We are looking for a “Data Scientist” for our client, Turkey's largest industrial consortium that shapes the country's industrial market 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Gather requirements, create roadmaps, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure data quality, availability, and provide data-driven insights. 
  • Design, create, maintain, and troubleshoot data pipelines (data lakes/warehouses) for specific analytical needs. 
  • Choose and maintain data acquisition solutions that are cost-effective, scalable, and future-proof. 
  • Lead data security and cybersecurity efforts, ensuring integration aligns with organizational goals and regulations. 
  • Design, implement, and validate models and machine-learning algorithms that drive business insights and quality control, ensuring clarity for stakeholders. 
  • Use data mining to uncover patterns and translate findings into actionable business insights. 
  • Stay updated on industry trends in data science and apply them. 
  • Mentor junior data scientists and analysts, guiding their professional growth. 
  • Maintain detailed documentation of data processes, models, and algorithms for reproducibility. 
  • Design and run A/B tests and experiments to inform data-driven decisions.

Qualifications: 

  • Min 5 years of experience in a statistical and/or data science/business intelligence role. 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Computer Science or Electronics), or MS in Computer.
  • Applications; Economics, Statistics or Mathematics.
  • Excellent command of English. An additional foreign language would be considered as an asset. 

Technical Skills 

  • Familiar with shop floor related data acquisition/processing layers: SCADA systems, OPC-OPC-UA layer and EDGE computing principles and techniques. 
  • Experience of managing large data sets, simulation/ optimization and distributed computing tools such as Hadoop, Spark, or Kubernetes. 
  • Familiar with IoT platform/large cloud based platforms (such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) setup and roll-out. 
  • Experience in IT infrastructure and/or data management projects is a plus. 
  • Used SQL, PL/SQL or T-SQL with RDBMSs like Teradata, MS SQL Server, Oracle etc. in production environments. 
  • Experience with reporting and BI packages e.g. Tableau, QlikView, SAP BO etc. 
  • Experience in machine learning, statistics, optimization or related fields; deeper experience in working with large data sets, simulation/ optimization or distributed computing tools is a plus. 
  • Experience with programming is required; specific experience in Python is a plus. 
  • Experience with image treatment and processing and related libraries (such as OpenCV or TensorFlow) is a plus. 
  • Proficiency with version control systems like Git for collaborative development and version management. 
  • Proficiency in deploying and managing machine learning models on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS SageMaker, Azure ML Studio, Google AI Platform).
